Hotchkis springs use a progressive rate design meaning that the spacing of the top coils on each spring have a larger gap for smoother less harsh ride. The lower coils are spaced tighter so that the harder you corner the better the handling. An alignment is not always necessary after installation. Springs are manufactured from high quality steel and coated to prevent corrosion.
